The USC Thornton Symphony presents all-Dvořák program featuring the Carnival Overture and New World Symphony. Attire: nice casual; blue and gold colors preferred (kidding). It's Ok to come by yourself, you won't be by yourself for long.℠

Written in 1893 by Dvořák while he was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America, New World Symphony earned its place in history when a recording of the piece was taken to the moon on the Appollo 11 mission.

The USC Thornton Symphony is the premier ensemble of the Thornton School of Music. Hollywood Reporter ranks the school 3rd in the world. Since its inception in the early 1900s, the USC Thornton Symphony has been a visible artistic presence in the Los Angeles music community. The symphony has worked with some of the world’s greatest conductors, composers and musicians including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Yo-Yo Ma, and James Conlon. Note for Bruins: UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music is ranked 4th.
