What we’re about

This meetup is for those who are ready to step deeper into improvisational theater.

A 12-minute Scene Example —
Suggestion given by audience: Packing

The two-person scene begins with siblings packing their parents’ house after the last parent has passed away. They share stories of items they find. They talk about their parents. There are moments of silence as each person is deep in thought, recalling the past. They wrap items, toss items away and carry boxes to be moved out.
One asks the other:
“Why did you run away back then?”
Long pause, still packing, avoiding eye contact, the sibling says:
“Because I saw something I shouldn’t have seen.”
“What?”
Long pause, still packing, avoiding eye contact.
“Mom kissing David Wilson...”
“Dad’s friend?”
“Yeah... it wasn’t a short kiss.”
Pause. Thinking. Packing.
“Could all those little trips she took been to...”
“...see him?”
Pause. Staring into space.
“She was lying.”
“Yeah.”
Pause. Thinking. Looking at a family photo.
“What else was she lying about?”

Does this sound like a script for a play, a movie or soap opera? What if it happened without a script? What if it was all improvised?

Join us. We'll create a class that focus on just this.
