Join us for SHL's annual spring potluck at the Cottonwood Shelter.
We'll gather at 1 PM at the shelter, have lunch around 1:30 and hold our (very quick) elections! Come early and play before lunch, or come on time and stay late to play. We'll have a 2:30 PM Socrates Cafe for teens ages 13-17 and talk about launching our new humanist teen program. Park admission fee $2 per person.
Bring your family and friends and a dish or drink to share. Although we'll have paper goods and utensils, please consider bringing a reusable cup and metal utensils to minimize our impact on the earth.
There are grills, and we'll bring some charcoal, so bring food for the grill if you'd like!
See your old friends and meet some new friends. If you've never been to an SHL event, we'd especially like to welcome you.
We'll elect our board of directors for[masked]. Everyone is welcome to come, but only dues-paying members are eligible to vote. If you are not currently a dues-paying member, you can join or renew your membership here: http://lowcountryhumanists.org/default.php?page=Join
Come early or stay late. We have the shelter from 9-5, so come take advantage of the beautiful Wannamaker County Park! It's a great day to explore the Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark (additional fee), let your dog enjoy dog park and meet your humanist friends, or let the little kids play in the sprinkler and at at the playground! Get your exercise on the trails and bring your frisbee, bocce ball, croquet or volleyball. We'll bring some board games to play under the shelter for the more sedentary humanists. You can also play disc golf at the 9-hole disc golf course, and there are horseshoes, too. Rent a boat or a bike and enjoy all the park has to offer.
We'll see you there!
