Youth Activity - Moving Right Along/Sun and Earth Session 1

**This session is now full. There are still spaces in the 3:30 session available.

NOTE: This particular event is is for kids 5th grade and younger at 1:30pm. There is an later session at 3:30pm for this same program, and there is a separate event for middle/high school kids.

January's youth activity will be split into two programs, one geared toward younger and one older kids. Both are fun, educational programs featuring Charleston County Park and Recreation's indoor, inflatable planetarium.

One program is entitled Moving Right Along/Sun and Earth and is geared for elementary school a
ged kids and younger, along with their families. In this program, we’ll examine movements of the moon, earth, and others in our solar system, including how it translates to day and night. We’ll also examine the relationship between the sun and the earth that includes seasonal changes on Earth.

*Due to high demand, we are now offering 2 sessions of Moving Right Along/Sun and Earth. The first will be at 1:30 and the second is at 3:30. (2:30 is still the program for the middle/high school kids)

The other program is for kids in middle/high school, and there is a separate event for it at 2:30pm.

This program is 45 minutes in length and begins promptly at 1:30pm. Because it will take a bit of time to get everyone into the planetarium and situation, please arrive 15 minutes early.

Cost: $6 per person/all ages (this includes admission to the park), payable to SHL. We accept cash, checks, credit cards. To paypal in advance, please note that it is for the youth activity and send payments to [masked].

Location: Edisto Hall, James Island County Park

RSVP: RSVPs with accurate numbers are crucial. The structure only holds about 30 people, so attendance will be limited to the first 30. Parents are welcome to attend the program, but are not required to. Please include the total number, including adults and kids, that plan to enter the structure. In the past, the CCPR programs have sold out. If you RSVP yes and it turns out you can't go, please change your RSVP as soon as you can to allow someone else to take that spot.

Lunch and Play: If anyone is interested in meeting for lunch and socializing before the program, we can meet at the playground area and move to Edisto Hall when it's time for the program.

I know it doesn't look it, but this meetup is almost full. If you'd like to attend and haven't RSVP'd, please email me at [masked] to make sure there is still space before coming.

Please note that the RSVP numbers here are never indicative of actual RSVPs or attendance. Many people RSVP on Facebook or through email. Right now this event is actually at 26 people, though it looks like only 1 here. It is very likely this will fill by the end of the week. I am working on trying to get a 2nd session for the younger age bracket scheduled.
