If the Libertarian Party becomes an "established party" in Illinois this November, there will be many changes our Party will be required to make.
One of the changes will be to have precinct committeemen (in some areas these are called ward or township committeemen). It is important to have people volunteer for these positions, not only to prepare for the change, but also because grassroots leadership is vital to political success. Because we are not yet established, we cannot have our committeemen elected, but we can appoint them.
You are invited to join The Libertarian Party of Chicago as Ron Shultis, Legistlative Director for the Libertarian Party of Illinois for a discussion on precinct committeemen for our next Monthly Meetup. He will lead a discussion on what will happen if we become an "established party" and become a precinct committeeman.
You don’t have to be a “member” of the Libertarian Party to attend and encourage people of all political persuasions to stop by. Here’s an opportunity to spend an evening with like-minded individuals discussing what’s important to us - Liberty!
