As many of you know, we have a great turn out on Friday on the West Steps. Unfortunately our time is running out quickly. We need to act NOW! (Think of how much liberty will be lost in a year from now; think about how you will regret you did not get involved.)
*We have a townhall with Morgan Carroll and Rhonda Fields coming up on Thursday, 2/21 at 7pm, at the Aurora Community College (need confirm the closer we get; those gals change up their venue at the last minute). We need to have folks show up there in large numbers.
*There is also the Anti-Gun event at DPAC, (Denver Performing Arts Complex) on Tuesday, February 19th. We need to have an organized effort there. We have sign making supplies, so not only do we have to attend these events, we should have some protesting. We need to out number them by a large amounts. http://www.meetup.com/lpcolorado/events/103925972/
*On Tuesday, February 12, House Bill[masked] and House Bill[masked] (http://www.firearmsforcolorado.org/doc/2013UniBackground_1229.pdf) are scheduled to be heard in the House Judiciary Committee in the Old Supreme Court Chamber in the Capitol upon adjournment of the House. HB[masked] (http://www.firearmsforcolorado.org/doc/2013-MagazinesHB_1224.pdf), sponsored by state Representative Rhonda Fields (D-42), would ban magazines that hold more than ten rounds. HB[masked], sponsored by state Representatives Rhonda Fields and Beth McCann (D-8), would prohibit and criminalize the private transfer of firearms. Need times!
*On Wednesday, February 13 House Bill[masked] (http://www.firearmsforcolorado.org/doc/2013-UnarmedCampusHB_1226.pdf) will be heard by the House Education Committee upon adjournment in the Old Supreme Court Chamber, and House Bill[masked] will be heard by the House Finance Committee at 1:30 pm in the Old Supreme Court Chamber. HB[masked], sponsored by state Representative Clare Levy (D-13), would repeal the current right to carry a concealed firearm for self-defense on a college or university campus. HB[masked] (http://www.firearmsforcolorado.org/doc/2013-CostOfBackgroundHB_1228.pdf), sponsored by state Representative Lois Court (D-6), would require law-abiding citizens to pay a fee (or gun tax) for a background check when purchasing a firearm. Need times!
There is a general run down of the bills coming our way:
I will be posting specific times when I get them. If someone wants to post on the pages more details, it would be appreciated.
