March with Gary Johnson in PrideFest Parade

Join fellow Libertarians as we march with Governor Gary Johnson this Sunday, in the Denver PrideFest Parade. Denver's PrideFest draws hundreds of thousands of people from all over the west. We need people to march with Governor Johnson this Sunday morning, and other volunteers to man the booth while Gary is on site meeting local voters.

Johnson will walk from the marshaling area at Cheesman Park, down Colfax along the parade route, to the Libertarian booth. The booth is located on 14th, space K13.   See map:

Meet Frank Atwood, wearing a blue Gary Johnson Live Free T-Shirt and Hat, at West 12th Ave and Acoma Street in downtown Denver at 7:45am, this Sunday 6/17. Frank will be with his mini van just south of the art museum. He will be shuttling folks to the marshaling area, which is Cheesman Park. Contact me, Travis at[masked] if you need assistance. We march sharply at 9:30am, but we need to be lined up by 8:30. We wind up at the corner of Broadway and Colfax around 11:30am.

From there your vehicles are only two blocks away. You can also choose to go to swing by the booth and help out while the Governor is there. (Free T-Shirts first come first serve for the march in the parade!)

If you're interested in volunteering at the Libertarian Party outreach booth at the Denver PrideFest on either Saturday or Sunday, please contact Christine Hartman at 720.545.4182.

Gary will be on Tom Martino - KHOW 630AM on Monday 6/18, as well as NPR and other media appearances.

Remember to call and e-mail the polling companies to insist they include the Governor in their polling. We are counting on our volunteers and supports to drive the polls upward and get him into the debates.

Please feel free to contact me, Travis with any questions. The campaign is still seeking volunteers for some official positions in the state.

Thanks for your support and remember to tell your friends "VOTE GARY JOHNSON 2012!!!"

The parade was fun! Governor Johnson walked the parade route and shook hands with lots of people, especially New Mexico voters that have found memories of him as a great governor. His participation emphasizes the libertarian message of social tolerance. I regret there wasn't an opportunity to also emphasize the libertarian message of fiscal responsibility.
Also, the Denver post had a paragraph with Gov. Johnson in it.

What a great day! Thanks to all who turned out to participate in the PrideFest Parade today! We had an enthusiastic and hard working crew of about thirty activists march with Governor Johnson. We handed out buttons and brochures, held yard signs, and several men carried a LARGE Gary Johnson sign. It was hot, but we engaged hundreds of people. Gary joined Libertarian volunteer back at the outreach booth, where he created a huge traffic jam! Good times....

Hey all of you parade goers, I think it will probably happen anyway without my commenting here, but it would be really great if people would show up at the LPCO outreach booth and help out after the parade. We could certainly use all of the help we can get at the end of the day break-down shift from 4:30 till 8pm or end. Thanks!

    I have a car that will shuttle 4 - 5 people.

I think you should shoot for 40 people on Meeetup. There is about a 50% no show rate on Meetup, so even though it is a big occasion, you need to have too many, rather than just enough.

If we get a full complement of 25 marchers, we will need about five cars. If you have a car that can hold 4-5 people, please post a comment here
