Pro Gun Rally at the Colorado State Capital

The first day our Colorado legislators return to work after their Christmas vacation, they will be introducing a new gun bill in the house. Colorado's own Diana DeGette is introducing an anti-gun bill on the first day the US House of Representatives meets in 2013.

The recent shootings have forced guns into the forefront of the drive-by media. With the re-election of anti-second amendment politicians, responsible gun owners need to stand up and speak out about our rights. We cannot allow bigotry against firearms, and the consequences of an election overrun with 'low information voters,' to cloud the judgment of reasonable, responsible citizens.

"A well regulated militia, being NECESSARY to the security of a FREE state, the right of the PEOPLE to KEEP and BEAR ARMS, shall NOT be infringed."

Supporters of the Second Amendment are gathering at the Colorado State Capital on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 for a pro-gun rally. Please bring your pro-gun appropriate signs and join other supporters of the second amendment. (Please leave your gay marriage, abortion, 'End the Fed,' legalize cannabis, etc. signs at home.)

This event is not endorsed or planned by the Libertarian Party. This rally was created online and has become viral.

Please note: You cannot open carry in the City and County of Denver--so please mind your manners. The person(s) who initiated this event may have not pulled a permit to stage a protest, so if you attend, you may have to keep moving.

I will update this page as more details emerge.

There was an anti-fracking protest across the street, which I think may have caused ours to get less attention. (you can only look left or rightas you're driving by, so both protests would have gotten more attention if they had been on different days) I shouted "shoot the frackers!" which got a laugh. I was concerned that my anti war, pro gun message would upset some conservative types, but the only disapproving comment I got was from a guy who didn't like me calling Obama Bush with a tan."
