Join us to discover the

- the maker,

- manufacturer and

- research

perspective on this crucial paradigm shift in the manufacturing industry.

But wait. We just got rid of paper on the shop floor …

AI in manufacturing is coming!

And here is one - for today's time typical - equation that you must consider:

We the people, voluntarily upload 300 hours of video material to YouTube every minute.

Now imagine what happens when robots will start to gain 300 hours of EXPERIENCE per minute.

How?? …

Join us in Berlin to find out!

Agenda m3:

• Intro by Lutz: The new European mission of the m3 community

• Presentation by Trent: Taking AI from research to production: battles lost and won

• Presentation by Simon: Machine learning for manufacturing shop floors

• Presentation by Roman: The first artificial muse in the world of art

• Panel discussion with all speakers about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Manufacturing

• Networking & Beers & AI Art (yes, there will be AI Art)

Speaker Bios:

*Trent McConaghy*

Trent started his career by doing AI research for national defense in the 1990s, while still an undergraduate. Then, at his first startup (ADA (http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/analog-design-automation)), he explored the relation between human creativity and AI-based machine creativity. ADA was acquired in 2004. At his second startup (Solido (http://www.solidodesign.com/)), he leveraged AI to help drive Moore's Law, which was under threat due to high manufacturing variations. Now, Solido software is used for most modern chip designs. Today he and his colleagues at BigchainDB & IPDB are building a shared database for the internet, for sovereign personal data and to help compensate creators. He is an advisor to Estonia’s E-residency program. Trent’s long-term goal is to help ensure that humanity has a role in an increasingly autonomous world. www.trent.st (http://www.trent.st/)

*Simon Müller*

Simon started working in the field of AI in the application of cognitive architectures to the control of industrial robots. Since then, he has shifted from the hardware side more towards software for planning and control solutions of manufacturing shop floors. In the startup innoTecS (http://innotec-solutions.de/), that a couple of friends and he have founded, their goal is to boost digitisation on the shop floor using technology like tablets, beacons and voice interaction. His focus is the application of machine learning to improve processes for the manufacturing in German Mittelstand companies. At his home, a Mitsubishi RM-501 Movemaster (robot) greets you in the hallway ;-).

*Roman Lipski*

Roman Lipski is a Polish born painter who has lived and worked in Berlin since 1989.

His celebrated art has been exhibited in numerous museums all over the world – such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the National Art Museum of China or the Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art in Istanbul. Furthermore his work is part of several art collections such as the Marx Collection at Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin.

Looking fwd to see our members of the m3 Berlin again and to meet many many new ones!
