New SMC Event: Tioga Peak and Mt. Conness

From: Wayne
Sent on: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 10:08 PM

New Event Announcement
Tioga Peak (11,526) and Mt. Conness (12,590)
Date: May 8-10, 2015

This trip is dependent on HWY 120 being open, but the feeble snow pack works in our favor.  We’ll camp at the Saddlebag Lake campground and approach Tioga Peak on Saturday from Gardisky Lake, followed by an alpine start summit of Mount Conness via the Glacier route and Y-couloir on Sunday.  Tioga is a pretty straightforward class 2 scramble to the top and Conness provides a nice glacier and couloir on which to put those SIG 2 skills to use.

Maximum: 10
