RCK 1.2 is a basic outdoor top rope climbing course with instruction and practice up to 5.8. The course is held outdoors and lasts up to 10 hours. It is comprised of instruction, demonstration and practice of belaying technique, communication, lowering on top rope, foundational knots for climbing, tying in, climbing technique while bouldering, spotting, safety, and beginning slab, crack and face climbing technique, especially focused on footwork, handholds, and body position, all while enjoying the safety of a top rope. The course is taught in an open, hands-on format in both large and small groups and includes time for questions and personal attention.
