ADVENTURE DAYS: Rock climbing, rappelling, and zip lining
Details
Update 5/22: I contacted the Bethel Horizon's Adventure Coordinator and we are good to go with our current count. He stated he can leave sign up open, update him June 3rd. If a few people add on after that, he said that is okay then also. He was very nice. :) Please also see low/high ropes obstacle course with bonfire/potluck and (if desired) camping on June 6th.
For this day of adventure, we will be doing rock climbing, rappelling off a 70-foot wall and zip lining at Bethel Horizons. The event starts at 9, so please be there by 8:45. We have a 20-person limit. Cost is $28 if through Paypal. If you pay me directly, it is $25 without the Paypal fees they add on. Write to me if you need my address. However, it is first pay, first play, and there is limited spots. Please bring a lunch as this event will last until about 4 pm or so. This is kid friendly but I would recommend at least 8 years old as they have to be able to reach crevices. They said it all depends on if they have the equipment, and that they have some pretty small equipment. (They also do these events for schools.)
Location is Bethel Horizons
Rock Climbing and Rappelling:
Participants learn the basics of Rock Climbing and Rappelling techniques, equipment, philosophy and safety while climbing and rappelling on Horizons bluffs

Directions from Madison, WITake Hwy 18/151 West, then continuing on Hwy 18 towards Dodgeville, WI. Take a right onto Hwy 23 North and go approximately 7 miles (passing Governor Dodge State Park on your right) to County Hwy ZZ. Follow CtyHwy ZZ for approximately 1 mile. Look for the small green Bethel Horizons sign on the south side of the road. Follow this drive. (Approximately 43 miles from Madison to Dodgeville)
Your group will need comfortable, outdoor-grade clothing suitable for current weather conditions. Participants should bring extra clothing if it looks to be cool, or wet (rain gear). Advise participants that they may encounter poisonous plants and pestiferous insects and should protect their bodies accordingly. Also, footwear should be solid to withstand mud, cold and moisture.
It is of course, easier to function and stay on task when one is dry and warm. Please share with your group the information you feel they need to hear. Also, brief other group leaders who may be accompanying the group on the purpose, procedures and outdoor nature of this experience.
Carry-In, Carry-Out Policy: In an effort to educate ourselves about our individual responsibilities of managing wastes, and to reduce the high volume of wastes which traffic Bethel Horizons, we have implemented a "No Waste" policy, modeled after the "Carry-In, Carry-Out" policy begun by the State Parks.
First, all groups are responsible for carrying out all wastes and recyclables which they bring in. Second, we are asking individuals to bring re-usable water containers with them to Bethel Horizons so as to eliminate the unnecessary and potentially prolific use of paper cups.
We urge group leaders to use this opportunity to challenge their members to see themselves as land stewards. Coolers and re-usable containers are examples of environmentally healthy options.
When you arrive, you may park your vehicle(s) in our parking lot near our camp sign. We will meet you at the parking lot.
See you soon! This meetup will be in conjunction with SPDA and MOAG
