  • This location is shown only to members

You've spent 100 hours on an awesome design with bells, whistles, and animated gifs of your pet. Ok, not the animated gifs part. You've built a great site, and now you're wondering how you're going to get people to actually visit it. Thursday, March 19, Join Deb Foesch of
Foremost Media for a presentation on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is the art and science of optimizing the content of your web site to maximize search engine placement and drive relevant traffic to it. This presentation will cover some technical aspects of SEO, but should be appropriate for less technical people as well. It should be of special interest to freelancers and employees of small businesses and startups.
Schedule: 6:00 pm: Chat 6:30pm Sharp: Presentation Herzing University is on the far-East side, past East Towne. Parking on the street is kosher. Use the main entrance, and signs will be posted. Clueless? My cell phone is[masked]

The speaker was less knowledgeable than the typical WDD meetup speaker, but made a sincere effort to answer the audience's questions. Considering how little I know about the topic, I still found it very useful.

I appreciated the wealth of information. I would have liked more examples regarding how to practically approach a variety of client's specific SEO needs.

I hate to be negative, but I got more out of the discussions Ben initiated than I did from the speaker herself. My impression was she is a sales rep who doesn't really understand web optimization herself, just has some talking points to use with prospective clients. I really appreciate the work Ben does to organize speakers on relevant topics and this was just one of those things that happens.

The presentation was really short, and the presenter did little more than read the content on the slides. She seemed very knowledgeable on the topic, but not quite at the same level as the group. The group participation was really good.
