My educational background was in programming but I got into the analyst side of things straight out of college. After 3 or so years as an analyst I started to miss my more technical "roots" of software development. Little by little through taking courses and polishing my skills on the side I have finally gotten to a solely "development" role with my current employer Electronic Theatre Controls where I work as a web developer (mainly Microsoft and web related technologies). I started as a contract-to-hire and last year was hired on permanently last year. I've been in IT for over 10 years now and love my current role with ETC.
