Madison Music Collective seeks volunteers

Madison Music Collective (MMC) is one of our community's leading nonprofit presenters of jazz concerts and educational programs. In our efforts to build a more vibrant and sustainable local jazz scene, we would like to introduce jazz to younger people and help them build their understanding and appreciation of this challenging, highly-rewarding, and most American art form. We seek volunteers to help with promotion and web design.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONSULTANT This volunteer's job would be to (a) help MMC establish a social media presence via Facebook and perhaps Twitter, and (b) train one or more MMC volunteers to use these media to disseminate news and information about, and seek community input on, our programs. Being new to the world of social media, we are uncertain about the time that our volunteer consultant would need to commit, but we do expect the commitment to be of a short-term developmental nature. MULTI-MEDIA WEB-BASED DESIGN SPECIALIST: One of our grant funders, the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission, has established a new online giving program called "power2give" through which arts organizations raise funds for specific projects by posting a compelling, multi-media project description on the Commission's site. The Collective is seeking volunteers with skills in the area of multi-media web-based design to produce and post engaging requests for financial support of upcoming MMC programs. Being new to the world of online multi-media production, we are uncertain about the time that our volunteer web design specialists would need to commit. However, we ask that volunteers be prepared to complete the production and posting of at least one project on the power2give site over the next 6 months. For samples of the kinds of postings that MMC is seeking, visit the power2give site at For an introduction to MMC and its programs, please visit Prospective volunteers are asked to express their interest via email reply to [address removed].
