Rick Navarro's Studio & Location Lighting Workshops

Happy New Year! We are gonna get this year off to a great start by being tru to LA form and meeting up briefly (bout an hour or so) and having some coffee at the Westfield Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks. Don't be late cause we will start on time and i don't want to keep anybody that can't stay. We will be getting to know each other and i'll be going over some of the details and plans i have for the workshops we'll be having this year. This will also be a great time to hear from you guys to see what you would like to learn and bring to the table any ideas you would like to see done. These workshops will be designed for beginner to intermediate shooter so you should own your own camera and have some familiarity with its functions. You should also be interested in how you use strobes in a variety of settings. We'll start with one light and work our way up to about 9! I am looking forward to learning as much from you guys as you will from me and am hoping even more so to bring a little more community to what we do. Feel free to spread the word. This meeting be open to whoever would like to come however the workshops will be on a first come first serve basis and will begin in feb! Looking forward to a great year with you and feel free to email me any questions you might have. r

Just an FYI, the reminder still says we are meeting at Starbucks and gives the address of the food court. That may be confusing to some.

I thought Rick posted about the costs? I remember getting an email to that effect. Actually two, one to my specific question and one general post to all. I can't seem to find it here under discussions. I am sure he will respond, but at least for the first meeting there is no charge.

The only problem with that is that there is not very good parking near his place. 30 cards would overwhelm the neighborhood, so better look for another option.

If it is cold and windy or rainy, I doubt there will be much communication. My dad lives in a condo up the street and maybe the multipurpose room could be used?

Now I grew up in the Valley and Although I have not lived there in OH a Long time I think that if it has been determined that the weather is good for a park How about the Sepulveda Dam area Thats not far from Sherman Oaks and Ventura Blvd. THen you just back a lunch and bring a Unbrella.

thats not a bad idea however i dont think we would be able to really sit together and really talk.. i think the park idea susan had was the best.. should be sunny and people can bring jackets

Perhaps due to the size of the group attending, we should move to a Denny's or similar type restaurant?
