APDC Elective: Hand Drawing 201 for Permaculture Designers

Open to our Advanced Permaculture Design Students as well as anyone in the permaculture community who would like to enhance their landscape and permaculture drawing/drafting skills.

This workshop builds on the previous elective and will dive deeper into cross-section and axonometric (perspective, 3D, iso) drawings.

This elective will take your hand drawing skills to the next level, especially for detail drawings that will really enhance your portfolio and the quality of materials you present to your design clients.  Hands-on practice with coaching will be an integral part of this elective and you will gain confidence to use these skills on your own projects.

Hey everyone - Just a reminder that this elective builds on the 101 elective. We won't have a ton of time to get you caught up on that 101 material if you weren't there, but Shana is looking up a few online tutorial links that will help you understand what we covered in case you do want to attend this 201 workshop anyway!

I signed up for this class that was held in MA last week thinking it was this one. Could I use the payment from that one toward this class? If so, planning on attending :-)

Hi Sam! I am sure you can use your payment for 101 for this class. However, this is the more advanced version than the class offered a couple weeks ago. You're welcome to join knowing that you might have to play a bit of catch up. Let me know what you'd like to do! Feel free to email me at [masked]

Hey Sam! Just checking in with you. Just confirmed with Lisa that you can apply your 101 money to this class. I've added a couple links above to catch anyone up who needs it. Hope that helps!

I missed the 101 class, but am pretty experienced with drawing in general. Would it be a good idea to take the 201 class, or do you recommend the basic class anyway? And if so, are there plans to offer it again?

Kenneth, if you're interested pls go ahead and sign up for this elective. We are organizing our materials so we're looking to get a somewhat accurate headcount.

Hi everyone! Just as a heads up... Please bring any drafting materials you have or feel free to pick some up at your local art store. I'll have plenty to share, but its always nice for everyone to bring some of their own materials. It would be especially helpful if you could bring your own T-square, drafting compass, and sharpies (of several different weights)- I don't have a ton of those things to share...

Other than that here's a list of things you could bring along to the class:

    - pencils, erasers, pens

    - trace paper

    - colored pencils and/or markers

    - sketch book

    - drafting triangles

    - circle template

I'd like to take the less advanced drawing class before this one. Is one available soon?

    February 10

    • Shana H.

Hi! The 101 class is typically only offered once a year. If I get enough interest I might offer it more than that.
