How did you find this particular group? (word of mouth? internet? etc.)

I found this group through a MOFGA newsletter.

What interests you about this particular group?

I am interested in this group for a number of reasons. Community building, sustainability, sharing of ideas, inspiration that comes from others are all notions expressed within the group's description that pull me in. The values and ideals of this group are very congruent with the direction I am taking my life and so this seems to be a great opportunity to explore new avenues and build new relationships.

Are you living/gardening/growing predominantly in an urban, suburban or rural setting?

Before heading to Maine I was farming at Urban Oaks, an intensive urban farm with year around growing. This was a great opportunity and I got to witness first-hand the impact an urban farm can have on the surrounding community. Not to mention there is no shortage of folks willing to lend a hand! Growing in suburban or rural areas offers the beauty and serenity that can sometimes be lost in the urban setting. I enjoyed each setting immensly and found they all offer different positive qualities.

My name is Dave and I am a fairly new transplant here to Maine. Originally from CT I made the move to explore a new portion of New England and immerse myself in the amazing surroundings that are so abundant here.
