foraging Ganoderma tsugae

This is a bumper crop year for ganoderma tsugae the hemlock reishi/lingzhi mushroom. It's not too late to be looking. They grow on dead and dying mature hemlock. They are generally used as tea and boost the immune system and seem to have action against various types of cancer. Additoinally they are a beautiful mushroom.

Years ago, David, when Francis and I were at a yoga workshop in Mexico someone had mushrooms to give away whose medicinal properties were so high, they assured us that we were convinced and returned home with them. We made that tea for a quite a while. Can't remember why we stopped.

Right now we're more than fully engaged with setting up our permaculture design. And there's the work party to get ready for on Saturday.

Deb Soule up at Avena Botanicals has always championed ganoderma for it's immune system support. I believe it's in her "immune soup" mixture.
