Subject: [permaculture] Help me revise Gaia's Garden

The publisher of "Gaia's Garden," Chelsea Green, has asked me to prepare
a revised second edition of the book, which is a tremendous vote of
confidence. The success of the book has encouraged them to add a lot
more photographs, and to make the book color throughout. Plus I'll be
revising and expanding the text and plant lists.

I'm asking the permaculture community for help. What I'm looking for in
particular are:

-Good quality photographs of small permaculture sites (from city-lot
size to about 1/2 acre [2000 sq M]). These can be details of interesting
features, illustrations of Pc principles, before-and-after photos, etc.
If we use your photo, we can most likely pay you a modest fee.

-High quality design plans of small permaculture sites. If you're a
landscape designer, this is way to get your work in front of a lot of
people. I'm looking for professional-quality plans.

-Stories of permaculture principles that you've applied in your yard. If
you've read the book, you've got an idea of some of the stories I've
used. I'm looking for more.

-Help in preparing a new chapter on urban permaculture. I'm looking for
photos, drawings, stories, and examples of how permaculture has been
applied in urban areas. I'm primarily focusing on food and habitat
production, water harvesting, and other land-based aspects of
permaculture, but I won't rule out useful examples of community building
and other forms of invisible structures. I know from past posts that
there are a lot of urban Pc experts on this list, so remind me of what
you've been up to.

From previous feedback, I've got a pretty good idea of what to add to
(and subtract from) the book, but if you have a can't-live-without-it
idea for something that the book needs, let me know (I can't add more
than a few pages on any topic, though!)

Since the book is directed toward a North America audience, I'm mainly
looking for resources from that region, but I won't rule out
particularly apt examples from the rest of the world.

Unless it's appropriate for the whole list, it's best to contact me off
list. Thanks for your help!
