Fully immersive experiences in virtual reality usually depend on a handheld controller in addition to the headset for users to interact with the virtual world. The controller is a powerful tool but can be quite cumbersome and unintuitive, especially for rookie users.
In this workshop, we’ll show you how you can ditch the controller altogether and use simple hand gestures to control VR experiences directly with the help of a headset-mounted Leap Motion sensor. We’ll guide you on how to code in Unity to achieve this and implement various scenarios to test out this functionality.
- All hardware material (including VR headsets and Leap Motion sensors) will be provided
- A laptop with Unity installed - this is a long installation so please ensure you have it on your
system before the session. https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download
