Venus: an Exploration of Venusian Magic Through Astrology

You will learn about Venus through Hellenistic Traditional Astrology and Islamicate Astrology. As well as an exploration of Venusian magic through the different systems. These systems differ significantly from today's more modern approach to astrology. They derive their meanings from a tradition-based astrology originating in Ancient Greece and Babylonian empires. From Alexandria’s philosophical schools to Baghdad’s observatories, Venus has always been more than the planet of romance.

This 90-minute workshop demonstrates how two classical lineages, Hellenistic astrology and medieval Islamic astrology, converge and diverge in their treatment of the Morning and Evening Stars.
