PASCAL LAUGIER DOUBLEBILL: THE TALL MAN & MARTYRS

Pascal Laugier is one of the most challenging, boundary-pushing directors currently working in the horror/Thriller genre. We are delighted to be presenting the regional premiere of his latest feature THE TALL MAN alongside the film that made him (in)famous, MARTYRS.

THE TALL MAN (2012): In a small, run-down Canadian mining town, children have begun disappearing on a regular basis, and the abductions are being blamed on a local legend, known as “the Tall Man”. When her own child disappears, a young widow is forced to investigate. But nothing is quite as it seems…

MARTYRS (2008): A young woman’s quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tortured her as a child leads her and a friend and fellow victim into a terrifying world of cold-blooded cruelty and horror. This cold, clinical exploration of the nature of cruelty is one of the most harrowing, horrifying cinema experiences of recent years.

Pascal Laugier's infamous MARTYRS and his latest, THE TALL MAN screen tonight at Stockport Plaza. MARTYRS is considered one of most controversial and extreme horror films of the last decade. If you haven't seen it, take a deep breath and experience this psychoogical and brutal onslaught to the senses. If you have seen it, why not expereince it again on the massive screen. The Plaza is just a n 8 min train ride from Manchester Piccadilly. More info here: http://grimmfest.com/grimmupnorth/2013/01/tallman-martyrs-7th-feb-plaza/

Have seen both already. Martyrs is pretty horrible and Tall Man not all that great IMHO.
