Marina Walkers
Join us for a walk around the marina with a friendly group! 1) A friendly reminder: please do not park in the Library lot on Mondays or Fridays. Most people park at one of the two Ralph's (usually the one across the street and down the path) and walk over. Due to construction, our walk may end a touch after 8pm so in general it's best to park at Ralph's and not the Library lot. 2) Also, please note that due to construction around the Marina, we temporarily have to walk on the street for a short section of our walk. I will likely try to walk through the parking lot when possible but just be aware all the time of cars and bikes along the walk. 3) Please note that our walk overlaps the bike path in sections and as it's dark now, please stay to one side and be careful of bikes. It's rarely an issue...but I don't want anyone to get hit! 4) Please bring a flashlight unless your X-ray vision is good as we do walk at night and it's dark now!

    What we're about

This group is about doing evening exercise through an easy-paced walk after dinner around the Marina (and sometimes West LA on weekends).

The walk is approximately 2.5 miles and will take anywhere between 45 min to 1 hour. We will start at 7pm and meet in front of the Marina Del Rey public library and walk along the Marina by the water either 1) past Cafe Del Rey, The Ritz Carlton along the lit path or 2) along Bali Way pier, Mindanao Way pier through Burton Park, towards Fiji Way and back. We can enjoy the sunset and the view.

Feel free to walk at your own pace, as we have some fast, medium and some slower walkers. Walking together, we will also provide safety for each other. This will not be a rigorous walk and probably is geared towards 30+, 40+, 50+ age group, although other age groups are most welcome to join. We will most likely take the same path at least in the beginning but add variations as we go along and depending on the group interest. I hope the walks will also provide a chance to meet our neighbors and connect with the people in our community in a relaxed setting.
