Reptile & Amphibian Search at Marshy Point Nature Center

Come join us for a reptile & amphibian search at Marshy Point Nature Center. It's a beautiful, quiet park on the Bay with lots of room to roam and a good variety of herptiles. We're almost certain to see spotted turtles - one of the most elusive, beautiful turtles in Maryland. Tim Hoen will be our knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide.

We will be searching from 9:00am until 1:00pm. Bring water, insect repellent (we must be careful about getting it on our hands if we will be handling amphibians), sunscreen, hat, lunch, camera, boots or shoes you don't mind getting dirty, and a sharp eye. You don't need to know anything - just help us find them and we will identify them. Great for kids of all ages, though we will be doing a lot of walking.

Please come join us!

Guided by experts Tim and Nick, this meetup was a fun and educational experience that extended far beyond reptiles and amphibians.

Good fun, as usual. Good company, too. Loved it.

Sorry I missed the hike today, my wife's flight came in late last night and we didn't get home until almost 2am. I hope you all had a great time. Is someone going to report the findings / photos to the Maryland Amphibian and Reptile Atlas project? If not please send me an email at [masked] so I can take care of it. Thank you!

    Greeting to all!
This was posted about a day and now we have 10 spots already!! This will fill up fast (max.20) so tell anyone interested. These trips are always fun and interesting. We should see 5-lined skinks, broadhead skinks, turtles, lots of waterfowl and more. See you there!
