Self-awareness (dinner and discussion)

One of the benefits of practical philosophy is to compel us to strive for self-awareness which in turn affects every aspect of our lives. This event will provide the opportunity to delve into some interesting sub-topics within this theme from a practical perspective. As usual, our facilitators will be provided with thought-provoking questions to fuel the discussions. We encourage all of our members to view some of the Food for Thought videos prior to our events. These videos provide some common ground and a great way to break the ice with new members.

Facilitator Information

As previously mentioned, our members take turns helping to facilitate our discussions. We require one discussion facilitator for each table of 6 people but I doubt that we`ll have a problem finding volunteers.

Coordinator Information

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this event in person but I will be coordinating it to run just as smoothly as the events which I'm able to attend in person. (The Meetup system automatically adds me to the RSVP list when I upload the events but I eventually remove my RSVP as soon as people sign up).

Payment Information

If you have any payment-related questions about this event, please see our Payment FAQs page first before emailing me since your questions will most likely be answered here:

Click here for all the Payment FAQs

If you would like to attend this event then you need to sign up as a member and RSVP for this event on-line through this website only. Please do not show up in person if you haven't signed up since there are limited seats available and this will cause confusion.

Please try to arrive on time (in consideration of your fellow attendees). Don't be shy to sign up to this event since I'll cancel and provide refunds if less than 6 people sign up. I will book an additional table of 6 people if there is enough interest in this event.

The discussions will begin once people have settled and have ordered their drinks/food.

Waves coffee shop said they will let us use the conference room for 2 hours if we all buy something. It is quiet in there.

Wonderful discussion last night at Cibo...
Lunchtime at Cibo is quiet. In the evening however a louder crowd appears. If everyone could do a little research to find a location that works for our needs.
Good to see everyone and hear their opinions on self-awareness...Shauna

I spoke with manager at Cibo and he said that necessary measures have been taken, it was a relative of one of the staff and that individual has been quarenteed. There doesn't seem to be a risk

My apologies for the late cancellation. I've tried everything I can think of to feel better after being sick overnight and I just don't think its going to happen. I hope my spot can be filled this late.

Has anyone heard about the possible measles outbreak at Cibo? I'm not sure if it is risky to go to Cibo or not...

Just tried to RSVP. I don't use pay pal. What is the $5 for? There is no charge like this for other meet ups I have attended or hosted. Just wondering what it's for is all. Thanks :)

I have spent my whole week talking about, reading about, and listening about, this topic. How serendipitous! Hope I make the list!

Good news! I was able to get a 2nd table added to the reservation so you can now grab one of the available spots by RSVP'ing online. (You should have also received an automated notification about this from the Meetup site as well).
