Bernard:  Can you deny that you exist?  No.   Can you deny that you are aware?  No. ---You exist and you are aware, FULL STOP!  That's what you are. Everything you see in the conceptual, objective world arises from that ocean of awareness; being, presence, love.  You are that being presence. You are awareness.  Look through your eyes without thinking about it.  That is who you are seeing through the eyes--energetic, intelligent awareness, bypassing the mind..  Anything else is a concept that rises from the field of intelligent awareness.  Everything is one with and within awareness. This is reality. You are living a dream, your minds little story of Bernard. This story is lived in time. Even time is a concept. That story is gathered from memory, the past. It is dead and powerless. You knowledge is an accumulation of memories.  Past knowledge. No power here. Everything you mind tells you is false.  It is gathered from the past and the past does not exist.  All real knowledge with power comes from knowing that comes from the NOW. Your real self is before every thought or word. It is in the vast silence of space. The knowing by passes the mind directly to knowledge appropriate to the moment. It is timeless and powerful. It is life. Here in the NOW, life lives you. All is perfect. Problems, anxiety, pain arise only when you identify with the mind.  At this moment if you don't think about it do you have a problem? No, it's impossible.  Do you see?  Seeing is everthing.  Continue seeing with awareness, bypassing the mind.  Eventually the mind will fall, die; and you will instantaneouly be 'home'. You will be one not two. The end of duality. You will see that what is looking out through your eyes is looking through my eyes. All is oness. No seems. Life is happening sponstaneouly. You are the dance and life is the dancer.  You have no resposibility, you no you ha ve no control.  You can now rest. You are at peace with life; you live joy, love, bliss.

I found the article quite interesting and must admit, since there is no proof, one must try and make one's conciousness the best it can be whatever the outcome of where we go...into another "living" place or not. But actually that is a no brainer n'est ce pas?

Ernie,

Nice!  As one of my teachers shared Every thought is a limitation.   Thought, by its nature is a form, and all forms are limited

Beloved,

By definition, techniques are time bound concepts--all thoughts are not true and imbued with error and are short lived.  Only that which does not change is true: only one and not two--the vast ocean of silence, awareness, being-ness, loving-ness.

John Wheeler:

"Any teaching needs be examined critically and the results verified against one's experience. Keep in mind that what is being pointed to (your natural state) is not a teaching at all. So once you begin to consider a teaching as such, what you are dealing with is concepts, not the reality. This is true for any teaching, however lofty and sublime it may be regarded. This goes for non-dualistic Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, etc., even in their highest presentations. The presentation is itself in concepts. But what is being pointed to is not a concept. Past a point, words and teachings tend to overcomplicate the direct and simple truth of things. Reality is not a teaching. It is what is, not a concept about what is."

John Wheeler is in Santa Cruz and holds meetings once a week on Thursdays.  His website above, Thenaturalstate.org/ for contact information.  John has gone home--his ego died a few years back.

It is my fervent prayer that "I" die soon.  May it happen to all of us.  But it is a pathless path and you must be guided by 'guru' within yourself.  Those, like John Wheeler, who are awake now, can only point the way--"The truth that can be spoken is not the truth."

Love,

Ernie

Hi Brett and everyone,

I found this article very insightful, although he doesn't reference Buddhist thought explicitly but in an intellectual way comes full-circle to realize the importance of developing one's consciousness. Steve Pavlina's site is free and rich with wisdom.

The Yoga Nidra CD I spoke about on Monday's meditation is here:
