This week we'll be watching a video of Thich Nhat Hahn (aka Thay), one of our modern day saints and a true zen master. Here is a link to the talk if you'd like to preview, or if you cannot attend and would like to see it: Awakening the Heart with Thich Nhat Hahn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUKiN11FARE)
Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in the 1960's by Martin Luther King, Jr., Thay led groups of peaceful resisters in North Vietnam during the war to end the senseless killing of innocent villagers by the Viet Kong. He tours the world extensively, even in his 80's, runs Plum Village hermitage and mindfulness center in France, and has written numerous books on mindfulness, peace, and meditation. We'll have plenty of time for discussion, and will join in a short group meditation as well. Please join us in mindful community as we seek to cultivate greater awareness and acceptance into our lives, and into the world.
