Hi Friends,

This is just a note to let you know that we are resuming our weekly meditations at the First Unitarian Church in Shaker Heights, starting tonight, August 2nd, at 7PM, in the Baker Room. Please join us if it works for you.

On Thursday, August 16th, we will have a special guest teacher, Jon Aaron, from New York Insight, with us that evening. Jon will be giving a dharma talk entitled "Rewriting Your Autobiography".

Jon Aaron is a teacher at the New York Insight Meditation Center, as well as the guiding teacher of the Makom Meditation Havurah program at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan. He also leads a weekly class for the Wellness Program at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He has given workshops and classes for the New York Open Center, the NYU Medical School, the Department of Psychology at Einstein College of Medicine, the Beth Israel Medical Center and for the 92nd St Y. He was formerly a member of Yoga Sutra New York's teacher-training program.

Jon trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, where he continues advanced training and supervision for experienced teachers. He continues his studies in Buddhist meditation in the Theravada tradition with his primary teacher Matthew Flickstein and has also completed the Integrated Study and Practice Program, at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. He recently completed the Foundations in Buddhist Contemplative Care program, with the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, and he is now currently training in Somatic ExperiencingTM.  In his worldly life Jon is active as an agent and producer in the Performing Arts.

Please join us for this special meditation and talk if it works for you.

With kindness,

John
