  • Saint Mathew's Anglican Church

    135, 109th St W, Saskatoon, SK S7N 1R3, Canada , Saskatoon, SK (map)

  • This is the perfect way to learn how and why to meditate in the way the Buddha taught. We will cover:

    Meditation posture
    Why we meditate
The problems that happen in our meditation and how to overcome them
    Breathing meditation
    Loving-kindness meditation
Meditation on the nature of the body
    Meditation on generosity and virtue
Meditation on the parts of the body and the elements
    Walking meditation
    And more...

The class is a mix of instructions and guided meditations. We have plenty of chairs and cushions.

The class is taught by monks trained in the Theravada Buddhist Tradition. All of the techniques we teach in this class are simple, useful and down to earth. Don't be nervous if you've never been to a monastery or meditation centre before. The atmosphere at the monastery is peaceful, welcoming and very friendly. We're looking forward to meeting you. If this is the first time you are visiting, check out what to expect.

This is a regular event sponsored by our centre, so many people come who are not part of the Meetup community. Don't let the low "going" number scare you off!

The Buddha Meditation Centre of Saskatoon is part of the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery (pronounced maha-may-oo-NA-wa). We've been in Saskatoon since 2015.
