Online event

Tuesdays, 1/26/2021-2/23/2021, 6pm-8pm Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Instructor: Anthony Ryan Color pencil can be used to create incredibly vibrant, layered and textured color drawings. This workshop will teach layering and blending of color pencils with an emphasis on rendering from primarily photographic sources. Each week's session will consist of a 90 minute participatory live Zoom session (that will be recorded and archived for student use). Each week at the close of the synchronous session the instructor will post a 30 minute lecture or recorded demonstration addressing the next week session's subject that can be viewed on the students' time before the following week's synchronous session. Slideshows and reference images and other resources will also be posted for class use. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device. Learn to Draw from Life: A Tabletop Approach

Online event

Saturdays, 9:30am-12:30pm, 1/30/2021-3/13/2021 Workshops are taught online through Zoom and Canvas. Instructor: Linda Hope Learn drawing techniques and processes by drawing from life, using recommended and easily found objects. Objects recommended will be ones well suited to “tabletop drawing” and will serve as the subject matter that will best lend itself to each exercise. Start on the journey through the elements of drawing, beginning with contemplative line. Then, move through line’s many applications. With the introduction of different media, discover how fluid movement can be used, as gestural approaches begin to reveal form. This will lead to more complex and richer renderings. No previous drawing experience will be necessary, but all levels are welcome. Students will need a computer or smart phone with webcam and microphone, internet and web streaming capacity, and the Zoom application installed to their device. A device to capture images (digital camera, smart phone, or tablet, etc.) is helpful, but not required.
