Statement from Valley to Summit, LLC:

We have attracted a dedicated group of outdoor professionals to assist and guide us in our journeys. All trip leaders are at least certified in wilderness first aid or as wilderness first responders. We also have guides who are certified by the America Mountain Guiding Association as Single Pitch Rock Instructors and guides with decades of experience in their respective skills. Still others have relevant water-based certifications from the American Canoe Association. And many are either Leave No Trace Master Educators or Trainers. VTS carries insurance and, where required, operates under permits.

Mother Nature gifted our region with a plethora of unique outdoor recreation opportunities. We offer the adventurous soul who is seeking an escape from the daily grind many options to get out there. Our goal is to facilitate fun, informative, inspirational and recreational outdoor rock climbing experiences.

We spend the day at Birdsboro Rock Quarry, a local climbing crag that was once a quarry and is now a climbing destination in Berks County, PA with well over 100 routes that range in difficulty and height. There is a short 15 minute walk to the climbing area.

Our professional guides will teach the basics of rock climbing and help you improve your top-roping skills and techniques. The goal is to facilitate a fun, informative, inspirational and recreational outdoor rock climbing experience.

The Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing trip is designed for first time climbers (no indoor or outdoor experience) and for those who would like to transition from indoor gym climbing to climbing on real rock in the great outdoors. The Intro trips are also good for intermediate climbers as the guides setup a multitude of easy, medium and hard climbs.

The groups are generally limited to 12 participants and Valley to Summit generally maintains a guide-to-client ratio of 1:6, providing everyone with time to climb and for individualized instruction.

The guides will review:

- Belay Instruction
- Climbing Gear (all gear included: shoes, helmet, harness, rope, etc.)
- Body Movement
- Tying into the rope using a figure-eight on a follow-through knot.
- Climber and Belayer Safety Checks
