What we're about

Looking to get outside, try something new, have some laughs and meet new friends? Me too!

This group is BRAND NEW and will focus mainly on casual, social tennis with some other interesting things thrown in once in a while (because I can't find other groups that DO them!)

NO WORRIES - All tennis skill levels are welcome - trying to get your serve up to 110 mph? Are you 3.0 or above? Great! Or - maybe you haven't played in a while? Had a long winter on the couch and looking to get OUT? (Me too!) Tired of hearing "Love 40" or not sure what that means? It's OK - we're all about burning calories and having fun at the same time.

Check back often because I have a lot of ideas for this group, and would love to get your input!

Sound good?

OK, COME JOIN US and let's go hit some balls and do other fun stuff!

See you soon!

- Jim

CASUAL TENNIS at Roseville Middle School

Roseville Area Middle School

Come join us for an hour or two of casual, social tennis. Woo hoo!

OK yeah, I know. The High School has brand new courts. But parking is like a block away - sort of a hassle. The Middle School is easy. Right?

No, you don't have to be a semi-pro. All skill levels are welcome and we'll divide into two groups - "casual players" that just volley back and forth without keeping score, and "serious players" who want to play actual games and sets, (and who don't mind adding more stress to their lives)!

So whether you've been playing indoors all winter and have your serve totally dialed-in, or like the rest of us - wondering if the sweet spot actually FELL OFF while the racket hung in the closet. We're all rusty at first, but we'll get better as the season gets under way. No worries, this is a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE (a fitness center STOLE that from me, BTW)

COVID STUFF: masks will not be required, but if want to wear one, feel free. We'll try to stay six feet apart (but we do that ANYWAY because of SWEAT - LOL). If you have a fever, cough or don't feel well, please pass.

CHANGE OF PLANS?
Please be courteous and change your RSVP to "No" (even at the last minute), so we don't worry about you, OK? And - it gives those on the waitlist a chance to join us.

PLEASE BE ON TIME
Plan to get there a bit early, OK? We'll get everyone together at 9:00, do short introductions, and hit the courts shortly after.

WHAT TO BRING
☆ Your racket (duh)
☆ Plenty of water (lemon wedge or green tea - highly recommended)
☆ Sunglasses / hat
☆ Sunscreen (if you're Norwegian like me)
☆ Sturdy shoes (no Urgent Care visits!)

NO NEED TO BRING BALLS
(unless you want to)
The most technically advanced "Ball Bomb" (version 4.0) is up and running, (see pics) and I've got a boatload of balls at 45-50 psi (pressure). A brand-new can from Target that goes "pssst" is 7 psi. So the balls we used last year should be plenty perky and bouncy. (there might be a joke there, but...)
