What we're about
Who can join.
The Cape Cod Gay Men's Social Meetup is a group FOR MEN who identify as gay, bisexual, curious or questioning. As there is a broad spectrum of exploration/identification within our membership, we are a private group.
Why should you join?
Because everybody needs a few more goods friends.
I moved to the Cape with my husband Steve in April 2017 feeling like I had pretty much everything I needed in my life, including friends. Yet, wanted to meet and develop some friendships with local gay men, which isn't always that easy when you're in your early 60s, married, and your career is designing in front of a computer screen. The Cape is richly populated with gay men, but most activities and events to gather are centered around P-town. So I thought, what better way to meet interesting fun guys than to create a Meetup group for those of us fortunate enough to call this slice of paradise "home".
What members need to do.
1. Post a face photo and at least your first name. Cape Cod Gay Men’s Social Group is a private group, if we’re putting ourselves “out there” to seriously make friends this isn’t so much to ask.
2. Pay $5 annual dues. The annual cost of this Meetup site is $180 a year, we’d like to maintain a rotating supply of hosting supplies (names tags, paper products, extra coolers) and misc. expenses. We’d also like Cape Cod Gay Men’s Social Group to sponsor it’s own charity event in 2019. You can pay dues at an event or write a check payable to Brian Schnetzer and mail it to: Brian Schnetzer, PO Box 1791, Brewster,MA 02631.
3. Attend at least 1-2 events a year.
4. Live on or within an hour of Cape Cod (or spend part of the year here).
One last thought on joining. . . I've met some of the kindest guys and made some of the most meaningful friendships of my adult life. What have you got to to lose?
Yours in friendship,
