Ladies' Book Club
Octobers's book is Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. Synopsis: For more than two hundred years, the Owens women have been blamed for everything that has gone wrong in their Massachusetts town. Gillian and Sally have endured that fate as well: as children, the sisters were forever outsiders, taunted, talked about, pointed at. Their elderly aunts almost seemed to encourage the whispers of witchery, with their musty house and their exotic concoctions and their crowd of black cats. But all Gillian and Sally wanted was to escape. One will do so by marrying, the other by running away. But the bonds they share will bring them back—almost as if by magic... Please do not feel hesitant to join us! This book club is open to new members! If you have a suggestion for books for a future book club meeting please share!

    What we're about

** All members, please check the discussion board for updates **

This is a social activity and social networking group for adults looking to expand their social circle by making new friends, getting you out of your house, out of your box and into life again, or maybe for the first time. Often times, events are so much more fun when done with others and sometimes we all would rather not do or attend something rather than do it alone. This is a group to find others to help you live your life OUT LOUD!! There are so many people, especially single people, that no long do things that they like, or don't learn things they want to learn to do simply because they have no one to do them with. Together, we will do multiple outdoor activities (my faves are hiking, fishing, camping, and am willing to try...cross country skiing and kayaking??!!) and indoor activities (my faves are cooking, HS football games, dancing, games, music, movies, potlucks). What are your favorite activities that you would like to have others do with you? Just let me know an activity that you would like to see posted to the group and I will put it on the calendar. I welcome co-organizers as well and these folks will be able to post events themselves. I know MEETUP groups are fairly new to the Flathead Valley and if you are unfamiliar with meetup group, I will tell you that my experiences with multiple groups is once of friendliness, fun and acceptance...provided you have good social graces. Most events are in public venues, of some sort, until a group becomes comfortable enough to share their homes for events (like movies and potluck, football game viewing (the most fun I've ever had watching Monday night football was with one of my meetup groups). So, come join us for fun, laughter, friendship and LIVING OUT LOUD IN KALISPELL and the Flathead Valley.
