Couples Looking for a Game!!! We look forward to meeting all couples that love golf...nine & dines, 9 hole 18 hole events. High to low handicappers welcome, count or don’t it’s up to you. It’s about meeting new people on the course and breaking bread or sharing a bottle of wine after.
Our group started the summer of 2013, at one point we had 42 couples signed up. After Meetup kept increasing our costs based on the size of the group we decided to put a limit on membership and restart the group. Members are required to attend at least one event per month, for those that can't commit we allow guests to join us any time.
We require a $10.00 per couple Season Fee (to be paid at the first event) This is to cover maintenance costs Meetup charges us per member (levels determined by Membership Numbers). These fees go towards the Meetup organization which maintains the web sites.
We now operate all year, with winter months moving indoors to either Evolution Golf , or Golf Den. In addition we do a trip to somewhere warm each winter. Last year we had 3 couples that went to Borrego Springs (which is between San Diego & Palm Springs) We spent a week at the Rams Hill Golf Course as well as playing some other courses in the area.
in Feb, 2018 we had 6 couples meet in Palm Springs for a week to 10 days of Golf, Food and fun. we stayed in two large houses with two couples bringing their RV's down as well. Playing a different course every day was a challenge, but like always we made the best of our are golf time, with fire pits, Pools, Hot Tubs, hikes and anything else the are had. One common detail of both trips is our cocktail and meal get togethers, group dinners and drinks not mandatory but hey are a great way to get to know everyone.
Plans for 2020 & 2021 Winter Getaway.... so many options to consider, share your ideas with the group and we'll look at filling the calendar in the next few weeks. Possibly some summer Camping or RV trips...could be a day trip or long weekend. There are so many great parks and golf courses in BC and Alberta....lets get out and see a few of them this year.
Unfortunately going forward all of this will be tempered by the Covid 19 restrictions.... all we can do is make our plans as usual, but have a back up plan in case the worst may occur.
