Affinity [uh-fin-i-tee] 1. A liking or connection for someone or something 2. Inherent likeness 3. Of or relating to persons who share the same interests
So what do Affinity members have in common: the desire for pleasure and self-exploration. Additionally, Affinity members are folks of color. Affinity was created from a need of an underrepresented narrative, a need for a space and platform for folks of color in the lifestyle, and from revelations of a personal truth.
Affinity is a space where folks of color are encouraged to come together to discuss and examine sex and pleasure. Affinity offers a variety of events that will guide you through a personal journey of Sexploration. From happy hours, to munches, to conferences, to retreats, wherever you are in your journey, Affinity welcomes your presence.
Affinity's Premise: - Sex positive folks of color need representation and a platform to create community and share like-minded experiences - Intimacy and safe and consensual sexual expression is inherently healthy - Many people choose relationship types different from the norm, which should be acknowledged and respected - People should be affirmed for the freedom to choose, explore and experiment with the sex and relationship expression that is best for them - Most people have preconceived notions about what it means to be in the lifestyle, that aren't exactly flattering or accurate, where folks of color are left out of the conversation entirely. Here we are seeking to create our own narratives.
Looking to pursue alternative sex and relationship expressions? Does the lifestyle appeal to you but don't know how to approach it? Interested in exploring you or your partners sexual wants and needs? Looking to push your sexual boundaries and overall expectations of intimacy? Looking to connect with like-minded folks?
[Affinity is a sex positive community. Affinity embraces and values respect, choice, consent, inclusion, physical and sexual safety, and non-judgmental support]
