What we're about

If you’re new to town, new to church or just looking to connect with a group around both social and spiritual events, we are a new group at St. Luke's United Methodist Church for individuals in their 30s-40s to connect around social events and the opportunity to discuss the deeper questions about God and our culture as a whole.

Also, feel free to like our facebook page at the following link ( http://www.facebook.com/thecrossinghouston ), to get additional information on upcoming events.

Happy Hour 2.0

Cottonwood

Looking to take the average Happy Hour up a notch ? Join us for Happy Hour 2.0. Happy Hour 2.0 is a chance to grab a drink and a bite to eat and engage in conversations that go a little deeper than just talking about the weather. We’ll basically have discussions around things that actually matter, especially spiritual things. It is open to people of all faiths (or no faith at all). And if you’re new to all of this, no worries – it’s up to each person how deep they want to go. Whether you want to share or just listen - it’s all good. So if you're tired of the same old small talk, come check out a better way to connect.

Family Style: A Conversation About What We Eat and Who Sits at Our Table

Westminster United Methodist Church

For those new to these events, this event is part of a very innovative concept started by a friend of mine called Gastrochurch. Does anyone remember gastropubs from a few years ago ? Basically, Gastrochurch takes food (and beer/wine) and adds a spiritual dimension. It meets once a month over a uniquely themed meal using locally sourced ingredients. Over the course of the meal there are opportunities to have conversations with others at your table around different spiritual themes at whatever depth you are comfortable. It's a great way to connect and is open to people of all faiths (or no faith at all). Please visit their website (www.gastrochurch.org) for more info. on the group and Saturday night's topic. Also, if you plan to attend please register through their website to let them know how many to expect. There is no cost to attend (but if you've been before, they do accept donations). The dinner is over by 9 PM, so afterwards a group of us will head over to a local bar or coffee shop to hang out a little bit.
