  • Growlers & Board Games

Metro Detroit Game Night - MDGN

Cross-post from Metro Detroit Game Night (https://www.meetup.com/Metro-Detroit-Game-Night/). What's a growler you ask? Simply put, a jug full of draft beer. We (21+ only) will be trading samples of craft beer from various Michigan breweries and homebrewers. You do not have to trade or even drink to attend, however, you do have to bring at least one growler of Michigan craft beer. Where can I get a growler you may ask - I've included a list of some local breweries at the bottom of this event description. Our craft beer guru recommends purchasing your growler(s) (and keeping them refrigerated) no more than three days in advance (preferably less). Please post which beer(s) you're bringing once you know (unless you simply must be secretive) so we can seek maximum diversity. The focus is on beer but Michigan hard cider is also acceptable, as are decent sized bottles of Michigan mead, wine, or even liquor if you don't drink beer. Join us for an epic evening of board / card / tabletop games. Newcomers welcome! The games we're going to play won't be set in stone in advance - we'll pick them together and go over the rules before we start. We have a growing library of 250+ games to choose from (https://www.facebook.com/notes/metro-detroit-game-night/current-game-library/965006963517097/) but feel free to bring your own too if you like. • What to bring One or more growler(s) of Michigan craft beer, a tasting glass (or flight paddle) if you have one, whatever food you like for snacks and / or dinner, and anything you want to play that isn't in our game library. • Important to know Our goal is for everyone to have fun. If you'd like help finding others to play with, picking out a game, figuring out the rules, or have any issues whatsoever ask around for the host, Rob (Big O). We'll have a relaxed paddle through the area, see some amazing wildlife, homes, and boats as well with plenty of time to stop and relax. Things to bring: Water, sunscreen, a snack, a dry bag, ziplock for your keys and phone, and clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet. There is a fee to enter the park. • Friday Night SHENANIGANS Downtown Detroit, Part Two: Brew Detroit!

We're doing another Friday downtown! I know how badly everyone has been asking and I also think the last one at the Winery was amazing. To those NOT in the know, "Shenanigans" is a regular event that we hold in Downtown Detroit, it has *traditionally* been on Thursdays and more than likely will continue back to that Thursday so GET ON THIS NOW! This event is about a couple of things, mostly it's about creating the most welcoming open-minded environments ever. We are all about making a ton of new friends, and also learning about everyone and everything! This is also about exploring downtown Detroit and all of the new exciting locations it has to offer, while also supporting those local businesses! Whether you've been coming to these events all along, or are brand new to the city, you gotta come, I promise you will have so much fun! Brew Detroit is actually a contract brewer FIRST (they do tours for like 10 bucks I think and you get a beer with it) and a super gigantic bar with indoor games, like you can literally play bocce ball inside. They have MULTIPLE FLOORS. You can bring DOGS (I think, I'll need to double-check). Again this place does not serve food but you can bring some in! Get ten people to throw in five bucks and get a stack of pizzas delivered! Or bring some Thai, I dunno, DO WHATCHA GOTTA DO. Once again, I am leaving the RSVP count wide open, bring your friends, tell your colleagues. GET IN HERE IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME, it's open until MIDNIGHT! (I also know what you're thinking "why does this guy use so many capital letters?" it'll make sense when you meet me! :D )
