What we're about

Anyone who wants to play a friendly game of chess! We can play timed (10min or 5min blitz style) or untimed chess! It will be fun if you are at all interested in chess! I will bring the boards pieces and timers, all you have to do is show up and play! We could meet at a nearby convenient library and play!

Upcoming events (5+)

Chess Club -- Lexington Suburbs Area -- Weekly Meeting

Cary Memorial Library

If you enjoy a friendly, informal game of chess, this is the meetup for you! Whether you are really good, or just love to play, this is the place for you. We play timed games (10min blitz, 5min blitz, etc) and we play un-timed fun games. You call the shots! No pressure here, just playing for the love of the game of chess. There is no need to bring anything, if you don't want to! I will bring the boards and pieces. If we start to get a lot of members, it may be nice if you could bring an extra board and pieces, although it is not necessary that you do so. I will also bring 3 chess clocks that people can use who desire to play timed chess. When everyone has arrived, we will attempt to reserve one of the "study" rooms to play (located one floor up from the foyer in the corners of the room -- ask the reference librarian for assistance finding the "study" rooms if you are having trouble). If no study rooms are available, we will use the common area on the same floor as the "study" rooms. As a last resort, we may use the common area located one floor down from the foyer.
