YMCA Adventure Guides programs launch families on a journey of discovery, with the child as the explorer and the parent as the guide. Adventure Guides encourages parents to get to know their children with group activities such as games, crafts, songs, stories, skits, ceremonies and outdoor pursuits such as camping, hiking, and swimming. The one-on-one time in a fun, special environment builds important bonds through shared experiences.
Spending quality one-on-one time as a family will help build a strong bond of trust and memories that will last a lifetime. Become part of a program that’s committed to helping you and your family grow stronger together.
This program is designed for parents with children aged 5-12. Parent/child pairs are grouped with other pairs based on age and gender. Each parent/child pair joins a "Circle" of other parents & their kids. These Circles try to meet at least once a month for group bonding and to plan the group's events. Circle members typically all attend the same YMCA campout in the fall and spring, in addition to participating in other YMCA events together throughout the school year.
