The Beginners' Python Support Sessions are run by SkyPy.

The SkyPy project aims to introduce complete beginners to the Python programming language in the hope to increase the number of girls and women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as well as strengthen the community as a whole.

Beginning in March 2019 (first session at RCL on 6th of March), the group will meet every Wednesday from 5:30 - 8 pm in Basecamp unless an event is on, in which case we will announce the location changes.

All session summaries are available for review at https://github.com/anniequasar/session-summaries .

In the coming months, lessons and training will cover all the basics in order to provide beginners with the skills to take on a real-life project within the community.

There is a slackspace for sharing data at beginnerspython.slack.com - please email skypyproject(@)gmail.com for an invitation to join the space.

The present trajectory:

~ July - Begin open-source community-based software project (We are open to ideas and collaboration - please email skypyprojectatgmaildotcom to discuss your ideas).
~ September - project roll out in pilot stage - bug fixes etc.,
~ December - open-source project is delivered and made readily available to the community.
