What we're about

Community Events hosts activities, gatherings, classes and more for the Bartlesville / Washington County area. For the present time, ALL events supported or announced on this community site are considered to be VIRTUAL or ONLINE only. Much can still be enjoyed and accomplished virtually. Stay Healthy, My Friends!

Join one of our hosted events or propose an event for others on our site. Community Events is for everyone who share the value and importance of being good neighbors, growing, learning, and living abundantly. We are sponsored by a church but not all events are religious in nature. In other words, our faith informs all that we do, but not all that we do is religious. Help us make Bartlesville and Washington County a healthier, more enjoyable and neighborly place to live.

Good Shepherd Church

Join us for worship on Sundays in the sanctuary at 11:00 or Facebook or YouTube. For further information about the Zoom meeting, leave a message at[masked]- 1708 and someone will return your call.

Good Shepherd is a welcoming and inclusive church that offers a safe place to participate in a traditional, informal worship along with a more traditional music format of hymns, bells, organ and piano, plus special services based on holidays and themes. Our congregation is mostly people over 50 who enjoy each other's company, encouragement and support. We offer a more structured, yet familiar and comfortable worship style. Our focus is upon God's love, grace and blessing, rather than an emphasis on "should-ing" all over people. We celebrate communion on the 1st Sunday of each of each month. All are welcome at the table.

We welcome those who are straight, widowed, divorced, solo, married, with or without children. We invite those who are LGBTQA, bi-racial, progressive in their theology, concerned about the environment, value one's mind, education and those willing to ask questions and explore doubts to visit, explore, and examine. We are not a stereotypical congregation. Sermons are frequently on topics of interest to the congregation and there is a "talk back/with" the pastor during the service that invites the congregation to discuss the sermon topic or any other issue on the mind of those attending.

Our theological roots can be found in the Presbyterian (PCUSA) denomination, which comes from the Reformed tradition of the Christian church. We stand firm on God's gifts of Love, Grace, Forgiveness and Hope for all people that we know through Jesus Christ! And we stand firm against the Unholy Trinity of Guilt, Shame and Fear!
