Hi everyone!

As a professional English teacher, I am offering a pronunciation workshop (the fourth and last in the series), in which we are going to explore sentence stress in English.

Because English is a stress-timed language, not only syllables - the basic units of sound - but also words within sentences are pronounced shorter or longer and with a different pitch of your voice. This produces a unique rhythm for each sentence.

As a consequence, understanding which words need to be stressed and which words need to be reduced in their pronunciation is essential in helping you speak English with a natural rhythm so that others are able to understand you better.

In our workshop, there will be a presentation on how sentence stress works in English, and learners have the opportunity to practice and ask questions.

If you’d like to attend the workshop, please…

  • RSVP or cancel to free up spots for others
  • Please be so considerate as to not cancel less than 24 hours in advance in order to allow members on the waitlist to join
  • Bring $15 cash as event fee
  • Buy a little something at the coffee shop that hosts us
  • Come 15 minutes earlier to allow time to order a beverage and get settled
  • Speak in English to create an inclusive and respectful learning environment
  • Possibly bring pen and paper to take notes
  • Consider writing down some sentences that you find challenging to pronounce

Minimum participant number 3 people
Looking forward to seeing you then!
