This is for folks with chronic pain and optionally, their loved ones. One in 4 Americans have chronic pain and it costs the US $635 billion per year: more than cancer, heart disease and diabetes combined. And there's the opioids crisis. Medicine is at it's worst with treating chronic pain: just look at the 2017 book "Crooked."
AND THERE'S GOOD NEWS! You can diminish, cope with and even extinguish your pain. (No, this is not another come-on for some product or method or class). From '85 to 2002 I was really disabled. My life was over: I couldn't sit, stand or walk much. My problem is 80% gone now via a combination of methods that fit me. It took experimentation and tons of failures to find it. Finding yourself a combo of effective techniques--there are over 100 that I've seen help people--that fits YOU, is the ticket. Sometimes one or a few tools will work for one person and not another. You need to experiment to find what improves you even 1%. Chronic pain tends to be isolating, and one of the most important principles for healing is DE-ISOLATION. That's what this group is about: getting with others who understand and cheer you through your challenges, victories and defeats. The info sharing we do is also helpful.
This group is run by Hypnotherapist/former PT Ezzat Moghazy. I highly recommend him. He is warm, friendly, humble and understanding. This group is sponsored by the American Chronic Pain Association. There is also a group in Boulder that I run.
