Underdog Grape Wine Tasting (fee)
Details
Let's have an adventure in wine exploration by banning the "usual suspects" and diving into the world's most underappreciated varietals. This party celebrates the weird, the obscure, and the "wait, what grape is that?" bottles that rarely get their moment to shine.
📋The Rules
- Banned Red Grapes: Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Syrah/Shiraz, Zinfandel
- Banned White Grapes: Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio/Gris, Viognier
- What Qualifies: Any lesser-known varietal or indigenous grape. Think Assyrtiko, Albariño, Mencía, Carménère, Grüner Veltliner, Tannat, Nero d'Avola, Touriga Nacional, Vermentino, Zweigelt. Basically anything that makes people say "how do you pronounce that?"
🍷 What to expect:
- Bring a bottle of your chosen unsung grape varietal.
- Be prepared to talk a bit about the varietal and what made you choose it.
- To cover appetizers, we’re asking for a $10/person fee.
🏠 About the venue:
- We’ll be tasting at Suzanne’s home. She does have cat roommates.
- Her home is in the Natomas Park area. The address will be shared with attendees the week of the event.
