What we're about

Understanding the mind suggests that our experience comes from the mind.

The teachings of the Buddha, particularly in the way he introduced ‘meditation’ encourage us to develop knowing capacity to the fullest and provide us with methods we can use in transforming our everyday experience.

The quintessential point in transforming our heart and mind is to have an understanding of the way our thoughts and emotions work. When single-pointedly recognized and experienced, meditation helps us develop happy and calm attitude — effectively be able to manage both our physical and mental challenges.

As His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama says: “creating positive mental attitude is the key to a happy life!”

Our lives become balanced when we are able to integrate whatever we experience with our meditation. With correct motivation, meditation is the foundation of self-development and well-being.

LIVING DHARMA: Transforming our Mind

Pu Shien

This class is open to those who are familiar with the Dharma (Teachings of the Buddha); and/or those who are interested in learning the Dharma. With our busy and hectic life, we find it so difficult to find a place where we can go and learn the Buddha’s Teachings in a straight forward manner with no membership requirements and obligations. This Dharma class emphasizes learning and practices that will lead one’s mind only to the TRUTH! The wish and aim of this group is to provide anyone whose mind simply yearns to learn how to generate genuine kindness and compassion — and living it!

Taming The Mind: Step-by-Step

Pu Shien

This session offers some introductory to intermediate discussion of the practices of meditation and awareness as they relate to present-day life. Certain themes in class may overlap with combination of series in stages of mind training, but this repetition is intended to provide a foundation for developing correct understanding of the practice. Although the methods and techniques are mostly based on many different stages and paths of the Buddhist Mahayana tradition, the ideas and practices are specifically presented and oriented to the experience of our ordinary, everyday life. Everyone is welcome to attend this class, whether ‘First-Timer’ or Not. Please do come and join us... let’s all sit together in practice. The session is held at the Main Temple Hall and can be accessed down through the gate onto an entrance glass door at the bottom end of the building. Someone will be around to assist when needed. This session is FREE of charge.
