What we're about
Helping Homeless Women in New Your City!
Soulphia is a social enterprise that makes it possible for economically challenged women to tutor students around the world. Our mission is to enable homeless and economically challenged women to create more income, meaning, and happiness in their lives. As we enable women to live with more purpose, self-sufficiency and self-esteem, we also address the problem of poverty, homelessness, and unfulfilled lives that afflicts too many in New York City and other cities around the world.
Soulphia was conceived when Tiago Noel Souza, Felipe Marinho, Julio D’Hers, and Mark Dingle, through their volunteer work with homeless shelters and support services, had the powerful and purposeful idea that homeless and economically challenged people can create income opportunity, purpose, and fulfillment by teaching English to students in Brazil and other countries. We realized this is a untapped skill and service in our highly connected and global economy that can transform and enrich lives for both teachers and students.
