  • Galapagos Cruise + Mainland Ecuador Tour (9 days / 10 nights)

Galapagos...It’s a place of mystery that millions know about, but only a handful have explored. To visit is to live a moment like you never have before. Trip Dates : January 8 - 17, 2020 Trip Cost : $5700 (excluding international flights) See more details here : http://globe-drifters.com/tour/galapagos-islands-cruise/ This trip offers a chance to experience the little explored mainland of Ecuador, but the highlight of the tour will be the 5-day cruise among five of the islands. Travel to the Galapagos Islands is quite expensive. Each year, only a certain number of passes are available in an effort to moderate the human impact on and preserve these beautiful islands. A luxury class catamaran that is brand new (constructed in 2017) has been selected because it has one of the best itineraries available and also because it is one of the newest boats to be added to the fleet that is permitted to sail around the islands. Taking into consideration the 7-day mainland tour around Ecuador and the top notch quality of the boat, this tour is very reasonably priced. What is included : 4 nights accommodation in Ecuador Activities as indicated on itinerary Round-trip flight : Guayaquil – Baltra / Baltra – Quito Ground & sea transportation 5-day cruise on The Alia (all-inclusive) Bilingual national park guide & local Ecuador guide Use of snorkeling equipment and wetsuits All breakfasts, 6 lunches, 4 dinners $20 Transit Control Card What is NOT included : Optional excursions and activities Some lunches and dinners Alcoholic beverages Gratuities International flight Insurance Airport pick-up and drop-off $100 Galapagos National Park fee *Subject to change Souvenirs The luxury motor catamaran that we’ll be cruising around the islands is The Alia. It has 9 rooms each with a private balcony offering spectacular views of the ocean. Each room is also air-conditioned with its own private bathroom. There’s a beautiful dining room where we will have our meals together each day. For some R&R, there is a spacious lounge area, bar and jacuzzi located on the sundeck with panoramic views. On bigger boats, it can take as long as two hours for all passengers to board and disembark from the boat, which in turn, takes away from the time to explore each island. With land-based tours, day trips from a base island to other various islands can take 3 or more hours to arrive at each destination, leaving only a short time to explore before returning to the base island. A cruise is optimal because it allows us to sail to our destination at night and when we wake up in the morning, we will have already arrived at our destination! This means we can explore less visited islands that have a more bountiful quantity of wildlife and plant life and have much less tourists. Check out the video below of The Alia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vGz8rUFe7E If you have any questions, email [masked].

  • Tuscany/Umbria Villa Stay! (2 weeks / 4 weeks)

    Città della Pieve

Enjoy life at a slower pace as you soak up the culture, food and amazing vistas of the Italian countryside. Head to local markets to pick out some cheese and wine and stroll through narrow passageways that take you back to medieval times. Ride a bike or take a leisurely walk to back to the 18th century luxury villa while passing olive groves during an amazing Tuscan sunset. This is the Italy that few tourists get to see! Email [masked] if you are interested or have questions. There are 2 options for this trip a 2 week trip (15 days / 14 nights) or a 4 week trip (28 days / 27 nights). See below for some information. For more details, check out the websites! 2 WEEK TRIP Dates : - August 24 - September 7, 2019 *1 room left! - May 23 - June 6, 2020 - June 6 - 20, 2020 Cost : $2900 (excluding flights) Single Supplement : $750 Details : http://globe-drifters.com/tour/tuscany-umbria-villa-2-weeks/ 4 WEEK TRIP Dates : May 23 - June 20, 2020 Cost : $4200 (excluding flights) Single Supplement : $1000 Details : http://globe-drifters.com/tour/tuscany-umbria-villa/ There will be a local host/concierge available daily to help arrange activities, excursions, etc. If you want to rent a bike or car, tour a balsamic vinegar factory, visit a saffron farm or anything else, the concierge can get it set up for you! There’ll also be a list of things to do available at the villa. Our villa, Villa Baiocco, was built in the early 1700s and recently renovated into a holiday home with 7 rooms in the main villa, each with a private, full bathroom. It’s on almost 5 acres of beautifully kept gardens and fields and also has 2 swimming pools. The villa is on the Tuscan/Umbrian border, halfway between Florence and Rome, so it’s perfectly located to explore lots of nearby places. Villa Baiocco is about 1 km from Città della Pieve (approx. 15 mins. on foot). It’s a charming town with just over 7,000 residents. There are several eateries and cafes to choose from and its grand wall that dates back to the 1300s is magnificent. Città della Pieve has won the Pio Alferano 1st Prize as the most perfect town in Italy and it’s only 1 km from our villa! Most other villas in Tuscany/Umbria are about 5 - 15 km to the closest town. So a car would be needed for the duration of the trip which is a very expensive additional cost. Other villages within walking distance from other villas only have 100 or so residents and lack basic amenities such as banks as well as restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. Our villa is perfect thanks to its close proximity to the town. We’ll most likely be the only visitors there which makes it a great escape from the droves of tourists in nearby cities. May and August are great times to visit this area as all the cafes and restaurants open their outdoor terraces. Upon arrival, there’ll be a welcome dinner to get to know each other. In the villa’s main salon, there will be a community board to post/suggest any ideas, activities or announcements. For example, if you would like to host an aperitivo before dinner one night, you can add this announcement to the whiteboard. Or maybe you want to enjoy a pizza and pool day. Our villa has a traditional wood-fired pizza oven on the patio, so if you want to invite the others, you can just post a note on the board. When more people join, the cost of that activity is less! It is your choice in what activities you want to participate, but you are free to plan events, host dinners or organize trips/excursions for the group or just for yourself. What is included : 14 / 27 nights accommodation (Double occupancy) Local Italian guide/concierge International airport pick-up Breakfast served daily Welcome dinner If you are interested or have questions, please email : [masked]

Most villas are in the region are anywhere from 5-15 km from the nearest town or village which makes it a bit of a chore to get to. Citta della Pieve has plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and amenities to choose from, but still has the old world charm of an Italian countryside town. It is also in a good location to go on day trips to nearby towns like Chianti, Siena and Florence. The villa itself was built in the 14th century and has been renovated into a holiday home. It has 2 pools, a fully equipped kitchen, a wood fired pizza oven, a spacious patio/lawn area and 5 acres of beautifully kept fields and gardens.
