Bayston Hill Common Meander

The walk starts at the Common Bayston Hill (SY3 0EA) where there is ample parking around the Common itself. You turn left on the road south from Shrewsbury opposite the turn to Lyth Hill (on the right) just less than half a mile from the A5 itself. It is a sharp turn so take care. This is clearly signposted as the Common.

The walk itself is about 6 miles around Bayston Quarry and heading towards the Rea Brook and eventually the golf course in Shrewsbury. The walk is semi-urban with some roads and fields and stiles and the going is easy to moderate with no major inclines.

Afterwards there is the Compasses Inn which has an entrance off the common for a drink and food if you feel the need. Dogs , as usual, on a lead, please. Walk starts promptly at 10am. Please bring drinks and a snack for a short stop by the Rea Brook.
